Energy efficiency in buildings in mountain local authorities: experiments, solutions, tools and territory approach

Local authorities in mountain areas are among the most vulnerable areas facing climate changes, with some particularly harsh weather conditions. The energy efficiency of buildings is a real challenge there.

In this context, the commune of Saint Martin de Belleville ( French Alps), ASDER (Association for Development of Renewable Energy in Savoie),Rhônalpénergie-Environnement and the Network of municipalities "Alliance in the Alps” organize a seminar allowing elected representatives and stakeholders from the building sector in the Alps to improve their knowledge and tools . Through the decoding of projects conducted in the Alpine local authorities, the participants will be led to analyze steps and necessary stages to complete successfully projects aiming at a high energy efficiency in buildings, and to study how the will of elected representatives has resulted into actions and ways of acting.

Three themes will be developped :

• New buildings
• Renovation of municipal buildings
• Incentives for renovation to private owners
