ENERBUILD at Euregia
ENERBUILD participated in the CENTRAL EUROPE public workshop held on 27th October at the Euregia 2010 and practiced knowledge exchange between projects from four european funding programms.
The keynote speech tackling the topic „Climate change mitigation through improved energy performance of buildings“ was given by Mr. Tudor Constantinescu, Executive Director of the Buildings Performance Institute Europe based in Brussels.
With regards to the overall aim of the EU goal 20-20-20 to be achieved by the year 2020, the expert remarked that “more ambitious would be needed from the side of the Member States” as the forecast shows that keeping the pace of today only 9% instead of the envisaged 20% will reached until 2020. He also presented the EU legal framework related to the efficient use of energy and highlighted major developments in this context.
During the panel discussion moderated by Mr. Ewald König, Head of euractiv.de, the partners representing projects from four transnational cooperation Programmes (Ms. Carina LEMKE, Central Europe project “4BIOMASS”; Mr. Jörg PERRMANN, Central Europe project “GOVERNEE”; Mr. Andreas LINDNER, Baltic Sea Region project “Urb.Energy”; Mr. Peter STEURER; Alpine Space project “ENERBUILD”; Mr. Maximo PEVIANI, South East Europe project “SEE HYDROPOWER”) discussed the topic „How can the energy efficiency and use of renewable energy be better promoted and help to combat the climate change?“
They debated their practical cooperation experience, their activities and approaches implemented and tested within their partnerships. The debate has shown that several activities has been launched in Europe, various approached and methodologies are being tested. Number of stakeholders and experts are put together with the aim to find the way out of the energy-demanding economy.
