WebGIS shows the
surfaces potentially available for installing solar modules.
The annual availability of the solar resource on the different roofs has
been labeled into 4 intervals: <800, 800-1000, 1000-1200 and
>1200 kWh/m² and it is showed by means of different colors none,
yellow, orange and red respectively.
Moreover, you can obtain specific information regarding the irradiance
and photovoltaic potential just by clicking directly on the roof of the
building.
In the map are considered only the roofs of the houses excluding meadows, parking, roads etc…
The filtering procedure was carried out by overlapping the building-cadaster map of the city with the
Digital Terrain Model (DTM)
that reproduces with high accuracy roofs, balconies, trees and other
objects having a horizontal surfaces larger than 1m². The needed
cartography was provided by the
Stadtwerke Brixen AG / ASM Bressanone SpA.
Legend:
- red: surface very well suitable for the installation of photovoltaic modules; annual solar potential higher than 1200 kWh/m²
- orange: surface well suitable for the installation of
photovoltaic modules; annual solar potential comprises between 1000
kWh/m² and 1200 kWh/m²
- yellow: surface suitable for the installation of
photovoltaic modules; annual solar potential comprises between 800
kWh/m² and 1000 kWh/m²
- no color: surface partially suitable for the installation of photovoltaic modules; annual solar potential lower than 800 kWh/m²
When clicking on a roof
a pop-up will appear. The pop-up contains further information that specifically regards the roof:
- roof surface in m²
- yearly average insolation collected by the roof in kWh/m²
- the percentage share of the roof according to the 4 irradiation classes previously defined
- the electricity producible when on the whole surface of the roof
are mounted photovoltaic modules based on one of the four following
technologies:
- high efficiency crystalline silicon
- standard crystalline silicon
- cadmium telluride (CdTe) or copper-indium materials (CIGS)
- amorphous silicon (a-Si) double junction
(the efficiency used is the efficiency expressed in the data sheet of the manufacturer in November 2011)
Short Disclaimer
Although this application provides a trustworthy assessment of the incoming radiation,
it was developed without any on-site survey and it cannot substitute a
complete planning of the photovoltaic system performed by professionals.
The calculation does not take into account any little object present on
the roof (e.g. chimney) and it also does not take into account
potential prohibition of PV installation due to the structural or
historical/artistical issues.
